The details state the prestige and uniqueness more than any grandiloquent description may do. The construction of 4 discharges, alien to any geometry. From a block to create offsets and broken optical effects that emerge only in the overview of a single piece, now and forever.

Project title:
Body pump turbo
Description:
A high-tech pump body with extremely tight dimensional tolerance that would require 5 or 6 calls to different turning and milling centre that in Oms it finds a response in a single machine of extremely high technology.
This solution guarantees maximum precision of execution (see description Integrex GT), as well as economic efficiency on the product by about 12%. Smooth production of 12/18 pcs/day, guaranteed at 99% for the ability to simultaneously manage a 5-axis milling and 2 lathes.

Carter Harley Project
Description:
In the line of tradition of a universal brand, a realization in authentic Italian style, with the design concept of the
prefixed accuracy to bring out the aesthetic side of the work of a milling cutter.
Project title:
European Project Tmac64
Description:
Oms is coordinating a group of companies focused on the construction of a rotor in titanium billet and monolith.
Project title:
Vortex Project
Description:
A reactor at high pressure by re-engineer. Client: The Polytechnic of Turin.
Solutions of connection with interchangeable screw couplings and Oring sealing, redesign and redistribution of the flow of high pressure gas with improvement of the seal and efficiency.
This system allowed the replacement of a single valve management of gas flow, and when it was necessary for research purposes, without the need to replace the entire fuel injection system of the high pressure gas, offering a considerable saving in both economical and time terms.
Project title :
Molibdeno Project
Descrption:
The construction of a mold made of Molybdenum 99%.
For research purpose it became necessary to re-create some details made of Molybdenum 99%; the previous details were made of carbon, but the residue left behind during the process, rendered useless the observable data.
Given the critical aspects of the application and materials associated therewith, the science and chemistry of materials Department has decided to challenge that has never been tried: to run precision machining processing of an alloy of Molybdenum 99%, manufacturing that most likely has never been tried until now. A challenge ever attempted up to now. A process that Oms can only try to make it achievable.

Explore and show the Mori Seiki’s NMV5000 possibilities
Description:
Some data to define the challenge undertaken and completed:
Weight of the raw material : 11.6 Kg.
Weight of the finished piece : 1.9Kg .
Time of high-speed processing : 29h 15min.
Working with hemispherical cutter diam. 3mm. 3D processing with cutter minimum diameter 2 mm.
Design of CNC program: Mastercam X5.
The Cnc program of the sole 5 axis finishing processing takes up 235 Mbytes. By putting all the characters in a row one would obtain a 220 Km-long line.
The customer has launched the challenge to make a demonstration on the potentiality of the Mori Seiki NMV5000machine , that would be different from the usual turbine impeller, visible in all the field exhibitions.
We have taken on the challenge by providing all our Know-how and producing in record time the prototype that can be seen in the photo.

Material:
Avional Alloy 2014 t6
Customer:
Agilent Technologies
Item name:
Turbo Rotor
Application:
Molecular turbo rotary pumps
Commitment:
Fin parallelism, turbine-concentricity between shaft and fins
Lead Time:
12 working days
Description:
The reduced thickness of the rotor fins makes it impossible to maintain the perpendicular tolerance of with the axis of the rotor shaft within the limit of 0.03mm.
The causes are excess thermal load on the fins during the CNC turning phase, and excessive friction brought about by the cutting tool.
The trial study hypothesises the former relationship of a PCD tool (polycrystalline diamond), with functional cutting and clearance edges to reduce the thermal load and friction. On the CNC turning centre a hydraulic system is installed for refrigeration liquid at high output pressure at about 15Bar.
The collaboration with the supplier produced an original tool based on our design, thanks to which the perpendicular error was reduced to 0.015/0.020mm.

Collaboration between Ridix and Oms
Item name:
Ridix Bypass Filter type R1
Application:
Filtration systems for liquid from cutting
Commitment:
To optimise the filtering of the liquid contaminated by metallic particles
Lead Time:
30 working days
Description:
There was a need to improve the efficiency of the filtration solutions offered by the tool and machine manufacturers, while at the same time reducing costs. The heart of the solution goes to placing the filtering group near the machines to operate in bypass mode, at a continuous cycle with the same machine. The cartridge system can be configured with different solutions according to the machines, and can filter up particles of 3 microns. The flexibility of implementation, depending on the work centre, the closeness of the filtering and the operability in bypass mode, which reduces the volume of liquid that cannot be reused, have allowed us to reasonably reduced the costs of this stage of work.
